Art 50 Weekender

Art 50 – a debate about our national identity.

In March 2017 Article 50 was invoked. Sky Arts invited 50 artists to respond to the question of what it means to be British today. From this scheme, 50 brilliant artistic projects were born – to be showcased at free ‘Art 50 Weekenders’ taking place on Saturday February 23 and Sunday February 24, 2019 at the Barbican, Sage Gateshead and BALTIC. These projects will be further explored and broadcast on Sky Arts as part of a television programme filmed by Storyvault Films Ltd.

Sage Gateshead presents a day of music, spoken word, installation and performance art, showcasing a selection of the commissions on Sunday 24 February.
